OUT OF
THE SWAMP
Evan was born in Metairie, Louisiana just outside of New Orleans. After growing up playing every sport, Evan finally found beach volleyball at the age of 14. Evan would go on to have an esteemed career as a junior athlete, winning over 10 Opens while in high school. Evan also played 3 years of indoor volleyball with the Bayou Boys club, where the team finished top 5 in the nation every year he played. At the conclusion of high school, Evan was named valedictorian of Holy Cross High School. He would then accept a scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University to play indoor volleyball, becoming the first male from Louisiana to ever do so.
Continuing on his path of firsts, Evan would become the first athlete to sign to play men’s volleyball at Lincoln Memorial University. In the first year of the program’s history, Evan helped lead the team as a captain as a freshman. As a program, LMU had the most successful campaign for a first year team ever, being the only program to ever win double digit games in its inaugural year. Over the rest of his career in college, Evan would go on to earn All-Conference honors 4 times, Conference Player of the Year 3 times, and All-American Honors 1 time in his senior year. Evan’s collegiate career ended abruptly in March of 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the court, he helped build a new program into a top 15 team in just 4 years, while leaving the school as the all time leader in kills, aces, digs, and points. Off the court, he graduated top 10 in his class academically with a degree in Accounting and Finance, as well as being a 3 time Academic All-American.

After graduating, Evan passed up opportunities to play professionally indoors and moved back to Louisiana to begin his professional beach career. In 2020, Evan would go on to win numerous Open grassroots tournaments around the country, becoming a top 50 player in the country in just his first year. In 2021, Evan teamed up with Logan Webber in what would become a career defining year. Evan and Logan won big events in New Orleans, Waupaca, and Seaside that qualified them for the AVP Main Draw. Evan made his first appearance on the AVP Tour in Manhattan Beach that year, finishing in 9th place.

After a wildly successful 2021 season, Evan moved from LA to LA, making the big move to California for his second professional season. He began 2022 playing with Bill Kolinske. With Kolinske, Evan made his debut playing internationally for the US in NORCECA events. The team would go on to win 1 gold and 2 silvers to start the year. Evan then played his first full season on the AVP, making 2 finals in Denver and Muskegon. He finished the year teaming back up with Webber to play internationally, where they narrowly missed a medal in Dubai, taking a 4th.
Evan began the 2023 season with Webber as well. However, after a tough start to the year, the team would split and Evan began playing with Troy Field. Cory and Field saw varying success, as they would go on to win gold on the FIVB in Helsinki, Finland. However, the team split at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
2024 and Beyond
For the 2024 season, Evan got the opportunity to play with Brazilian legend and Olympic Gold Medalist, Alison Cerutti. The team hit its stride in July, winning 2 events in Denver and Waupaca. After solid results, the team was heartbroken to miss the inaugural AVP League, losing a tiebreaker to be the first team out.
Going forward from the 2024 season, Evan is beginning to look towards 2028 for his next goal. In 2025, Evan will start his journey to represent the United States in the Olympics in Los Angeles.
